Topic: How do we keep outsiders out?

It's almost a year since our audio podcast interview with the National Demolition Association's Ray Passeno and Mike Taylor in which Taylor discussed the unwelcome phenomenon of non demolition companies - Bob's Landscaping - bidding for an winning demolition work.

Having just heard that a well-established US contractor bidding for a major job involving a significant amount of asbestos abatement was told: "Well, you guys are a fairly big operation and will cost too much. We’re looking to local guys.   There are a few farmers who have shown an interest", it appears that this phenomenon is far from over.

So how do we, as a global industry, ensure that demolition work goes to demolition professionals?
