No demolition contractor likes to lose a contract to a fellow demolition professional; but it's somehow worse when they lose one to a ground works company or landscaper with little or no experience or abiity in the demolition field.
Short of investing in a fleet of ADTs and playing them at their own game, what can demolition companies do to keep these pernicious interlopers at bay?
We have just quoted 2 jobs to be told, the groundworker is going to them....
BUT can we do the asbestos removal? I politely said no, then the same contractor asked us to come back to a job to pull a wall down, "what happened to the rest of teh building that was there" we asked, "oh we just got the groundworker to do that"
the company in question have just won an excellence award for perfect partnering agreements, due to the rigorous test of best practice or something......
I wonder if i should ring the award people and explain that their parctices are FAR from the best.
How can we compete with non trained staff and non specific kit, sometimes these companies need bringing down a peg or two.
